Homelessness is a growing crisis, and the harsh winter conditions can be life-threatening for people that are sleeping rough. Sleep Pods provide critical shelter and serve as a vital tool for outreach workers to engage with those in need. By taking part in a Sleep Pod Build Experience, your team will be building these sleep pods and directly helping the community whilst working together as a team.
What to Expect When Building Homeless Sleeping Pods
This hands-on session, guides participants through building lightweight, insulated pods that provide emergency shelter. The experience engages participants, leaving a meaningful and lasting impact on those involved.
Sleep Pod Session Breakdown
Introduction to Sleep Pod – Learn about the real-life impacts the sleep pods have and watch a short video showcasing some real-life stories.
Build Your Own Sleep Pod – Work in small teams (of 2-4 people) to construct specialised sleep pods, with guidance from our experts.
Homelessness Awareness – Optional talk from a local homeless charity (subject to availability), offering insights into the local homelessness crisis and how these pods save lives.
After the session, the Sleep Pod team performs final quality checks and adds finishing touches before distributing them free of charge to rough sleepers through trusted partners.
